Who is SparklePunk?

SparklePunk was founded in 2019 by Lex Glade in Brooklyn NYC. Lex has always had a passion for arts of all kinds, especially arts that involve the self as the canvas. Lex completed BA in studio arts with a focus in sculptural works at Mount Holyoke College in 2015. She has since worked for various artists, publishers, and academic organizations in NYC. Lex was inspired to start SparklePunk as a means to focus her creative works on wearable arts, makeup services, and teaching/coaching in

The core values of SparklePunk are intended to inspire radical self expression, to help encourage and advocate for your inner child, to make costuming and upcycling/craftspersons skills more accessible, and to hold space for joy and play. SparklePunk is looking forward to expanding their Craft Coaching offerings and workshops to empower others to realize their own DIY dreams and gain life skills to promote upcycling and sustainability of material.

Sustainability and eco-consciousness is extremely important to SparklePunk. Reduce, Reuse, Refuse, Recycle. SparklePunk takes pride in using certified BioGlitters and a careful curation of sustainable eco-friendly products for their Sparkle Station and beyond.

With a nod to the Riot Grrrl movement, SparklePunk believes in creating and supporting a strong, creative, and inclusive community. They hope to inspire others to nurture their inner child through dress up play, and to help folks connect to their inner joy to express themselves more radically and unapologetically..
